Local businesses in Potton
Potton’s Market Square tells a story of trade and rebuilding. A market was granted in 1094, and some older houses around the square and Sun Street retain timber frames. The Great Fire of 1783 destroyed roughly half the square and parts of nearby streets; rebuilding left the Georgian buildings that help define the town today. Later, the Sandy–Potton railway supported its market-gardening trade.
